CHAMPION OF PURPOSE & PEOPLE | Victor Fuchs

I had the honor of attending a podcast taping with Victor Fuchs, President & CEO of Helix Electric—and photographing him for my Champion Series. There's no question he belongs in this gallery of leaders shaping Southern Nevada and beyond.

Victor describes himself in three words: caring, determined, goal-driven.
After hearing his story—and watching how he leads—those words couldn’t be more accurate.

Born in Ukraine, Victor was raised by parents who fled the post-WWII Soviet Union with help from the Jewish Federation. He arrived in the U.S. with next to nothing and a deep desire to build a better life. After earning a degree from UCSD and nearly becoming a dentist, he chose a different path—joining his uncle’s small electrical contracting business in 1987 as an entry-level estimator. (His title was “Assistant President,” which really meant doing everything from answering phones to hauling supplies.)

Eventually, he took a bold leap—moving to Las Vegas to expand the business. Years later, he bought it outright.

Today, Helix Electric is one of the largest and most respected non-union electrical contractors in the country, with operations in Nevada, Utah, and beyond—and projected revenue of $350M this year.

But Victor’s leadership is about far more than numbers.

💡 “Take care of your people, and they’ll take care of the company.”
💡 “Take care of your clients—or someone else will.”

He lives by those words.

Victor invests heavily in workforce development—$900,000 through Helix University last year alone. He opens doors through second-chance programs, nurtures local talent from high school to leadership, and believes success grows when you lift others.

He also gives back—quietly, generously, and often.

Through Helix and his family nonprofit Barkmerica, he supports causes ranging from animal rescue to healthcare, toy drives, and Make-A-Wish. He hosts tournaments that raise hundreds of thousands of dollars—and one of his favorite moments? High-fiving kids with Down syndrome at those events.

One story says it all:

When a kitten was trapped for three weeks on a downtown Las Vegas overpass, no one could rescue it. But a Facebook post reached Victor’s daughter Lizzie. She called her dad. Within hours, Helix deployed a boom lift and rescue crew. The kitten—now named Helix—was saved. And one of Victor’s employees is planning to adopt him.

🧡 “I’m proud we could play a role in saving a life today,” Victor said. “And even prouder of my team.”

Victor Fuchs is more than a CEO.
He’s a builder—of companies, careers, and communities.
He leads with humility, boldness, and heart.
And he reminds us that leadership isn’t a title—it’s a choice you make every day.
