I had the honor of photographing Tom Power, CEO of Sunshine Minting, Inc., during a podcast conversation with Jaime Cruz — one of the inspiring voices elevating Southern Nevada’s business and leadership stories.
Tom’s journey is a masterclass in growth with purpose. From his early days at Johnson Matthey in Canada to leading Sunshine Minting into a multinational powerhouse, his impact stretches far beyond precious metals.

What struck me most: His joy in seeing art created daily on his factory floor!
- His deep love for Las Vegas - while most of the company’s revenue comes from out of state, that income builds Southern Nevada
- His support for local youth sports, the Vegas Golden Knights, and Silver Knights
- And his heartfelt advice to young people: Have passion, don’t be afraid to make mistakes, and never stop learning.
